The story of this car started in 1993. Back then, Porsche had the motivation to create an RS version of its 964. In other words, the idea was to have a stripped-out track-oriented car that did not have all the luxuries of regular 911's. A lightweight racer for the road that could offer unprecedented performances and a unique driving experience. To meet US regulations, Porsche kept the same power output as the 964 Carrera 2 and was, thus called the RS America. A car that came to be one of the rarest Porsche's ever, with only 701 units produced.
